physical non-electronic devices to deal with drones?

Is the hackathon only looking for solutions that involve programming or attaching things to drones?
What about physical non-electronic devices to deal with drones? Could something like that be a winning entry?

  Grant, I've already responded to your email but I'll post what I emailed you here for the benefit of others: This hackathon is technology/solution agnostic as long as it solves the problem. If it's novel and does the job better than anything to-date then by all means it could be a winner!
